Looking for a little friend to hold your place in your favorite holiday book? This Turkey Hug Bookmark is ready to give you a squeeze! Whether you’re making it for yourself or as a gift for a pal, this craft is a perfect way to celebrate the spirit of Thanksgiving.
While most turkeys might be running away from the dinner table, the turkey in Adam Wallace’s How to Catch a Turkey is actually running away from stage fright! It’s a hilarious read, and there are plenty of other great turkey tales to enjoy this season.

How to Make the Turkey Hug Bookmark
- Trace and Cut: Download the Turkey Hug Bookmark Template. Trace the head, body, wings, beak, tail, and feet onto your chosen papers.
Color Tip: Use various shades of brown for the body and head, but go wild with a “riot of colors” for the feathers—reds, oranges, and yellows look great! - Assemble the Body: Apply glue to the top edge of the body and secure the turkey’s head.
- Add the Feathers: Fan out the colorful feather cutouts and glue them to the back of the body so they peek out like a vibrant tail.
- Give Him a Face: Glue on the beak and use your Sharpie to draw two happy eyes.
- The “Hug” Part: Attach the wings to the sides of the body, but only glue the base so the arms can “hug” the page of your book!
